Most BMW enthusiasts have M2 on the brain at the moment. If you can’t get enough M2, then these new spy photos, showing off the car in heavy camo, are for you.
The upcoming next-gen 5 Series is one car BMW simply cannot afford to mess up from a visual standpoint. From what we could gather following its spy image debut last week, the all-new BMW 5 Series will not feature the carmaker’s future split headlight design, which we’ll probably see on the X8, X7 facelift and eventually the 7 Series and i7 pairing.
When the next-gen BMW X1 debuts, it should fix all the small issues the current X1 has. Even though the test mule we see in these photos is heavily camo’d, we can see that its shape is sportier, a bit more upright, and a bit more SUV-like.
The 7 Series prototypes quite often at the Green Hell, but i7 sightings are rare. The i7 wears different camouflage on the nose compared to recent 7 Series sightings, with heavier coverings hiding all but the largest details.
A few weeks back, the guys from Auto Bild also published a rendering of how they imagine this upcoming 5 Series could turn out. Kolesa actually captured the essence of the car rather well, using the bare minimum of hints we could make out from under that heavy camouflage.
As we can see, it appears that the next BMW M2 will follow the lines shown on the regular 2 Series, but draw more attention to their squared proportions. The lower grille expands to beyond the width of the above kidneys, which are pictured here as standalone elements with the new M-specific horizontal slat design.
This video shows off a drag race between the BMW X5 M Competition and Audi RS Q8, to see which monster SUV is truly faster. The BMW X5 M Competition uses a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 to make 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. That means the Audi RS Q8 has fewer horsepower but more torque, with a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 making 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
The premium compact crossover segment is booming – not only in the United States, but all around the world. Carwow wanted to see which one can perform the best off-road, and decided to put them against each other across a series of six challenges to see “which is the ultimate family car off-roader.”

Most German manufacturers underrate their power figures, leading to exciting dyno results, and the M4 Competition is no exception. The guys from RaceChip took one such car out for a couple of tests, to get a baseline reading before starting work on an upgrade, because that’s what they do, they tune cars.
The BMW M5 has maintained an impressively flexible character over the years. Even as advancements in technology have propelled it to awesome levels of performance, the brand’s mid-size super sedan has remained sufficiently luxurious and unassuming for low-profile chauffeur work.
BMW just presented new 2022 limited editions for the BMW X5, X6 and X7. Black Vermilion is offered on the X5 and X6, while Frozen Black edition is offered on the X7. The central focus of the new X5 model is the red and black finish.
